Valentines Day
Hello History lovers! Its Valentines Day! So much Love and chocolate of course ;)
Valentines Day is celebrate Love and all that commercial stuff but really it the suggested day that Saint Valentine was martyred and buried on the cemetery on the Via Flaminia, near Milvian Bridge.
Since not much is known about Valentine, many go off by what the Roman Catholic Church states. Apparently he would marry people secretly, mainly Catholic People since it was illegal to be Catholic back in the Roman Ages. Sadly not much else is not known about him. Just remember without him you wouldn't have your lovey dovey day.

How many Caesars did it take?
Hello History Lovers! How is your learning of the Roman Empire going? Do you know much about the Caesars? If not, keep reading!
From Augustus to Romulus, their was 147 Caesars in total. Thats a lot of men if you think about it. Men, Divided, Power ,Greed, Death, is what comes to my mind of Caesars. Now the Roman Empire had Western and Eastern Empires. Western being first and Eastern being second.
Western Dynasties of Emperors
- Julio-Claudian
- Year of 4 Emperors( The name is explanatory, 4 emperors either were killed or committed suicide )
-Flavian
-Nerva-Antonine
-Year of 5 Emperors( Almost Same situation as the 4. it was scary to be a Caesar back in the day)
-Severan
So from 235-284 A.D, the Empire nearly collapsed due to war, plague, economy problems
-Gordian
- Tetrarchy
-Constantinian
The last Emperors of Western was from Petronius Maximus - Romulus Augustulus (9 Caesars in total)

How was the Roman Empire Founded?
Hello History lovers, Welcome back to the Blog!!!! Let's start our Journey!!!
Now the Roman Empire didn't happen until 27 B.C. Before that, years of war and Julius Caesar. Julius is the man involved with Cleopatra who was stabbed by the Senate on the steps(How tragic). Once 27 B.C came, the Senate and the People voted Octavian(later known as Augustus) thus beginning the Principate( first epoch of Roman Imperial History). Augustus has much success but his heirs were more successful. Augustus' blood related family did not succeed in ruling, they all died before him. So his stepson Tiberius ruled after him. This created the Julio -Claudian Dynasty. In the Roman Empire, Christianity was not the religion until A.D 380. Yes Christianity did exist but you were killed if it was known that you were a christian. The religion at that time was Imperial Cult-Driven Polytheism. Think about gods and goddess and sacrifices to please the gods.

Lets Talk About :Northern Ireland
Hello History Lovers and welcome back to my blog! I haven't done a Lets Talk about in long time so I figured it was time. As many of you know, I'm Northern Irish and very proud of it. But, how did Northern Ireland become Northern Ireland?
The North was part of Ireland until 1542 when Henry VIII declared he ruled Kingdom of Ireland. The Irish resistance though, made sure he had little to control. 1641 : rebellion by Irish aristocrats against English rule created a massacre in Ulster. From that, war broke out between England, Ireland, and Scotland. Protestant victories in the Williamite War in Ireland, solidified the British rule. 1691 : Treaty of Limerick. This treaty would stop the war between both Irish and English and yet still follow William of Orange. 1798, rebellion lead by the Society of the United Irishmen. This rebellion can be compared to the French Revolution, by how so many fought to break the constitutional ties between Ireland and Great Britian and unite all Irish men. After this, the government of Great Britian pushed for the countries to be united. Northern Ireland formed in 1801. Still today is part of the UK but some think that is wrong. That it should go back to just being Ireland.
In Northern Ireland, there are 6 counties (Armagh, Down , Tyrone, Derry, and Fermanagh) out of the 32 counties in total(including Ireland). If you were to travel from the North to Ireland, you can still use sterling as well as euros. Northern Ireland also gives you a choice for either a British or Irish passport.

Education Through The Years
Hello History lovers, welcome back to my blog! Lets travel back in time of Education!! Sounds exciting, right? Can you just picture the high school drama but in Greek or German, minus women as well?
Starting in Greece, education was ONLY provided for men. (Women were expected to be a home, raise the children, and do all the chores) Scholars and Philosophers taught young little boys math, science, language. That was one part of Greece. Spartans on the other hand were taught how to fight and kill. To them, War was more valuable than how many numbers you knew. Education for males only, continued for thousands of years. The only exception was the royal family. All the princesses and princes were taught languages, literature, history, math, and science. Princes were given more care since they would be kings one day. Religion was taught as well but that class was praying in Church, reading your Scriptures everyday, and communion(if you were Catholic, like most European Countries). By the late 1700's, girls were attending school. If your family could afford the school fee's, you were welcomed. This didn't just happen in Europe but, as well as North America. In the Victorian Age, school consisted of middle class and upper class. The poor couldn't afford it so many children worked in the factories. Fast forward to the late 1900's in North America, classes were being divided by colour of the skin. If you read or see BROWN VS. BOARD, you can learn more about the fight to have children of all races in one classroom. In todays time, school is for everyone at any age. We still have math, literature, history, science, language, but its broader than before. Now, you can travel all around the world to receive an education. A bigger plus? Technology!

Lets Talk About : Princess Charlotte of Wales
Hello History Lovers and Welcome back to my blog!
In this addition of Lets Talk About, we are traveling to the 18th in England. Remember George 4th? The "fat" king? Well he had a child, Princess Charlotte or also known as the "Forgotten Princess". She was next in line but died young. So sad.
Charlotte was born January 7th, 1796 London, England. Parents : King George 4th and Caroline of Brunswick. Her parents did not have a happy marriage and her father wasn't thrilled she was girl instead of a boy. Her childhood was great to what could be expected but, her mother was not part of her life that much. When it came time for marriage, King George pushed for William , Prince of Orange but Charlotte refused. After many arguments, Charlotte convinced her father to let her marry Prince Leopold. They were married on May 2,1816. The marriage was a happy one. At the end of April it became public that Charlotte was pregnant. Her pregnancy was talked about everyone. People made bets on what the gender would be, economists calculated that this baby would raise taxes once it was born. November 3 contractions started. 2 days later, she gave birth to a still born son. It was recorded that she was calm about the news and stated, "It was the will of God". Early hours of November 6, Charlotte began to vomit violently. She had stomachs pain and postpartum bleeding. Her doctor, Sir Richard couldn't do anything and sent for Leopold to come right away. She died before Leopold came at age 21. England went into mourning. Her father didn't go to her funeral, he was full of grief. Her mother fainted in shock from the news. Caroline said, "England, that great country, has lost everything in losing my ever beloved daughter." The princess was buried with her son on November 19, 1817 in St.Georges Chapel.

Ballroom Dancing
Hello History Lovers!
Some of you may know that I am a Ballroom Dancer. Ballroom Dancing began with the Waltz. in 1812 , it took root in England. Viennese Waltz came during Mozart and Johanna Strauss time. The upbeat count of 1,2,3 over and over. Next, the Tango. Tango is based of Argentine Tango. Argentine Tango is what the poor would dance in the streets or bars of Argentina. Foxtrot came in the 1920's. The jazz and flirtatious movements create a slow slow quick quick steps. In 1925, Arthur Murray opened the first official dance studio, just for ballroom. he himself was a champion and his dance partner, Kathryn Murray(his wife) as well. Arthur Murray Studios have grown immensely having over 220 studios around the world!
